Stewart's Shops is an employee and family-owned convenience store chain based in Saratoga Springs, NY.  Stewart's is known for offering New York State's highest quality milk, ice cream, coffee, food to go, gasoline, and other convenience items.  Our success comes from the integration of our manufacturing and distribution systems.  We make and/or distribute ¾ of what we sell in our shops at our plant in Greenfield, NY.  Today there are 327 Stewart's Shops located in over 30 counties across upstate New York and southern Vermont.

NOW HERE'S THE LATEST STEWART'S NEWS...

Our new shop in Port Ewen, NY is nearing completion and is on schedule to open Wednesday, July 8th.  The new shop is located next to our current  shop at 199 Broadway.  The shop will offer Stewart's signature items including our award winning milk, coffee, ice cream, and food-to-go, as well  as ATM and EBT services.  Installation of the gasoline pumps will be completed later this fall.

MATCHING GIFT FUNDRAISER HELD AT STEWART'S IN PORT HENRY, NY

PTA members at Moriah Central School are now one step closer to installing a new playground thanks to members of the community and support from Stewart's.  A total of $5,581 was collected from customers at the Stewart's Shop in Port Henry, NY over a two week time period.  Stewart's Shops then matched up to $5,000 for a total of $10,581 to be used for the playground build.  To learn more about how we help our communities, click here.

MY MONEY CARD IS COMING TO STEWART'S SHOPS!

Later this summer Stewart's Shops will introduce the "My Money Card."  It's a no fee, reusable plastic card that can be used at any of our 327 shops.  So how do you think people will use it.  Will it help keep you on a budget?  Cut down on carrying change in your pocket?  For your kids?  Reward for a job well done at work?  As a gift card?  Email your thoughts to mymoneycard@stewartsshops.com.  There will also be a "Gas Only" version.  We are closer to you so we know you'll use these cards up!  More on when you can purchase your first "My Money Card" coming soon.

STEWART'S ICE CREAM NAMED BEST IN CAPITAL REGION

Have you heard the great news?  Stewart's ice cream has once again been named the "Best Ice Cream in the Capital Region" by  the more than 8,300 participants in the Times Union "Best of the Capital Region" poll.  Did you know that over 40 varieties of Stewart's ice cream are made daily at our plant in Greenfield, NY using award winning milk which comes fresh from local farms?

STEWART'S OPENS 327TH SHOP IN SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY

The newest Stewart's Shop, located at 521 Broadway in downtown Saratoga Springs, NY, opened for business in  June, 2009.  This marks the 327th Stewart's Shop for the employee and family owned company based in Saratoga Springs.  The new shop offers products our customers are used to buying, and also provide some Stewart's signature items, including New York State's highest quality milk, ice cream, coffee, and more.  Unfortunately, we are not able to sell beer at this new shop right now. The New York State Liquor Authority has a backlog of 1000 permit applications. We will not be able to sell beer until the new permit is issued this summer. 

SHAREHOLDER OF THE MONTH 

Paul LaFountain has recently been named the May Shareholder of the Month at the Plant. Paul has been working at Stewart's for two years in the Ice Cream Department. Paul is the kind of guy who gets along well with everyone and always helps out wherever needed. His great communication skills and positive attitude also helped him become our Shareholder of the Month. Paul will receive $100 and a Shareholder of the Month sweatshirt. Congratulations to Paul and the other nominees.

Everyone's "Flavorite" moose has made its way to the Stewart's Shop in Bennington, VT.  Moose Scoops, created by artist  Paul Hilliard of West Pawlet, VT, can be seen enjoying an ice cream cone outside of our shop on Main Street.  The moose sculpture is just one of many on display around Bennington for Moosefest 2009, an event hosted by the Bennington Chamber of Commerce.  Artists were selected to decorate the many moose sculptures.  After a summer of sunning themselves the moose will be auctioned on October 17th with the proceeds going to benefit area non-profit organizations.  The stripes on Moose Scoops symbolize the different flavors of ice cream he has enjoyed. Moose is made of fiberglass.  The cone was sculpted using styrofoam and was then covered in fiberglass.
